Wightlink is the leading cross Solent ferry operator carrying almost five million holidaymakers and Islanders across the Solent every year. Eight ferries on three routes provide Island-wide coverage and complete 48,000 sailings a year giving Islanders an easy and frequent service to the mainland, and tourists an accessible way to enjoy a taste of Island life.
You can get to Ryde Pier Head from Portsmouth Harbour in around 22 minutes by passenger catamaran, while car ferries take around 40 minutes from Lymington to Yarmouth and around 45 minutes from Portsmouth to Fishbourne.

Red Funnel is the original Isle of Wight ferry company with regular vehicle ferries sailing out of their home port of Southampton to East Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Southampton has excellent road, rail and air connections and is easily accessible from all parts of the UK using private or public transport. If travelling to the Island by car just enter SO14 2AQ into your SatNav.
The vehicle ferry journey takes 60 minutes. Onboard you will find a great range of locally sourced food, real coffee, a well stocked bar and relaxing lounges with modern facilities such as air conditioning, TV’s and FREE WiFi.

Hovertravel offers the fastest way to cross the Solent between Southsea, Portsmouth and Ryde, Isle of Wight. They operate two hovercraft with a frequent service and with the journey time just under 10 minutes.
Hovertravel also provides a ‘Hoverbus’ service which connects with the Hovercraft at Southsea and conveniently takes passengers to and from Portsmouth Harbour, The Hard & Portsmouth & Southsea train stations. In addition there is a large car park at the terminal and National Express and Lucketts coach stops opposite the terminal.
